Takafumi Nakayama seminar in Turin (Torino)

Description:
Sensei Takafumi ‘Taka’ Nakayama, 7th Dan Shorin-Ryu Shido-kan Karate, from Nakayama Dojo in Fukuoka, Japan, will be a guest in Europe for a jam-packed Karate road trip. On the stop in Italy, the seminar’s focus will be on soft block techniques.

Sensei Takafumi Nakayama will be teaching a gentle Suidi blocking exercise in the old style, emphasizing simultaneous striking while intercepting the attack. Suidi soft blocks need to be felt to be properly understood, as it’s not just about deflecting a strike, as most believe. It requires years of practice to skillfully employ them, but afterwards, one can turn the attacker’s force against them.

About Sensei Takafumi:
Takafumi Sensei learned Karate from his father, Masanori Nakayama Sensei, and several other renowned Karate teachers such as Katsuya Miyahira Sensei, Seikichi Iha Sensei, Koichi Nakasone Sensei, and Abet Presincula Sensei. Sensei Taka is an open-minded individual who loves Karate and imparts his knowledge wholeheartedly. For him, there are no boundaries in Karate.

Schedule:
18:30 – 20:30 Seminar with Takafumi Nakayama

Requirements:
This seminar is designed to be cross-style – all martial arts practitioners can benefit from the day. Previous experience in Karate soft blocks or Kobudo is not necessary for this course and will not be a hindrance.

Equipment:
We practice in Karate-gi. Newcomers or returning participants can also join in comfortable sportswear. If possible, participants can bring a Bo. We can provide a limited number of Bos, please inquire and reserve in advance.

Language:
The seminar will be conducted in English. Questions will be possible in Italian, Japanese, German and English
